Pretty shirt but runs small

I love the look of this shirt but it's a little too tight. I usually wear a medium to large shirt. Ordered the XL because of all the reviews saying it ran small, but even that is too small for my comfort (it fits, but doesn't drape the way it should because it's tight).

The shirt is so small, but I probably needed to go up to more sizes. There is almost no gathering of the material to give you the luck that it is supposed to have.

I think the quality and color is great, but much smaller than I expected. I usually wear S/M, I ordered a medium and still felt like the shirt was so tight it barely makes it off my shoulder. I think it still looks cute, just doesn't have the asymmetrical vibe I was looking for.
